Well in TGS when Rand travels to Ebou Dar the city was well cared for and a prosperous center for trade as Fortuona's Capital. Remember she is also keeping the order very vigorously this has probably brought food spoilage to a minimum too. Fortuona would probably have commented on it if Ebou Dar or any other territories were having significant spoilage.

I'm not sure if i agree with it being centered on one person though. Except for the trio and maybe Egwene too. There was an old theory someone wrote about on Wotmania back in the day about how Egwene might have a rare talent to manipulate the pattern much like a T'averen (sp?) except it would be in a more localized area directly around her. Other main characters might have it too but it seems stonger around her.

A quick theory as to why she would have it would be because she spent time around the trio when they were probably bestowed the power back in Edmond's Field. It could have happened when they were all together and she might have gotten some residual effect that opened up her conduit to the T'averen ability. Rand is the stongest one we have ever seen and when he pumped her for information the one time about Salidar she didn't give in even though she felt like she was in a whirlpool.

On a side note I would definitely like to soak in a hot tub with Egwene. +Bikini would be HOT! Someone said she has nice hips in the trolloc sweat tent!
