Its been running through my mind that one of the things Rand may tell Egwene is that he needs to "die" and that he needs her help for this. One pointer towards this is Egwene's second Accepted test, where Rand asks her to kill him.
I happened to be reading some of Egwene's parts in LoC for totally different reasons when I came across this:
Egwene gave a faint sigh. Any mention of Birgitte did that; they started as if goosed, then either stammered around her or else went on as if she had not been mentioned at all. One look had convinced Egwene that the woman following Elayne and Nynaeve about—especially Elayne, for some reason-—was the woman she had seen in Tel'aran'rhiod... Ordering the woman to her study and demanding an explanation was out of the question; she had promised, after all, no matter how much a fool the situation made her feel. Anyway, there hardly seemed any harm. She just wished she knew the why of it. And the how.
I'm fairly certain this is the last Egwene thinks of Birgette and how she got out of TAR, but the Birgette being a secret thing was discussed in tFOH too.
So, I think it is possible that Rand may tell Egwene that her role is to pull him out of TAR once he dies, but she won't know how to do it, and she never got to asking Nynaeve or Elayne about it. Maybe this means she'll oppose his plan, or maybe she'll end up making a mistake, or maybe she has to do something crazy to learn how to do it? That would certainly make us kick ourselves, and wish to kick the characters!
Thoughts?

What with ripping someone out of TAR being such a bad thing and all- very much against the pattern.
The little thing we missed, with new ideas from ToM chapter 1.

Didn't they tell Egwene the truth about Birgitte off screen in ACOS?

The concept of Nynaeve reving Rand this way this makes sense though

I don't think Nynaeve has that kind of ability in TAR. *NM*

It isn't an ability of TAR. It's the one power

Nynaeve doesn't have to act alone, she could always use Egwene's help

I like it: though there are also interesting RJ/Conan/Rand & Birgitte/Valeria parallels:

Isn't Alivia supposed to be involved with the "die yet live" part, somehow? *NM*

Well, I could kind of see Nynaeve using this technique on Rand since she already did it once *NM*
