I know that Verin is very clever, but so are most Aes Sedai, so why would the Dark One, or perhaps the Forsaken allow an oath that could let you 'slip free'?
Why not "never", instead of "hour of my death"?
If someone KNEW they were going to die, not by killing themselves, but lets say they were grievously injured and no one to heal them they might, perhaps even likely want to 'spill their guts' to someone and decide to turn back to the Light.
Seems maybe contrived? Did the DO want to give them a chance at going back to the Light or was someone really that stupid?
It would be like giving someone a confidentiality agreement that says that under the right circumstances they can blab all. What's the point?

As far as we know, they're just regular Oath Rod oaths. There's no surveillance

agreed. "The hour of my death" sounds more threatening and foreboding. *NM*

The Forsaken that created the Oaths in the first place must have messed up

Although given how we know Oaths work, they wouldn't have to die.
