if the male a'dam was on this side of the aryth ocean and the seanchan a'dam on the other, how is there a similarity in design and purpose? just a coincidence?

I have always wondered if Ishy had anything to do with this. We know that Ishy was free during the formation of the Seanchan. It is not beyond possibility that he used his AoL knowledge to help design the female a'dam, possibly using the male one as a a model. With traveling he could have jumped between the two continents with ease, and the whole channeler slavery system is quite beneficial to the shadow.

who was the male a'dam originally used on for it to have absorbed all that sadness and pain? just an unknown male channeller after the breaking?

No real idea. Though if Ishy had something to with this, it might have something to do with the TP. Maybe the darkness is a residue of being touched by the DO's power, just as Nynaeve can sense "evil" in the wound Ishy gave to Rand.

Cuendillar only becomes stronger if you channel at it, yet the seals weaken as the DO touches the world again. arguably he's touching the seals with the true power, would it be possible to destroy cuendillar with the TP, destroy the male a'dam?

Yes. The True Power has the ability to destroy cuendillar. This was confirmed as a fact by BS. He also said there was another as yet unknown method of doing it too (presumably with the OP).

Could Callandor be destroyed in this way?

I am uncertain if Callandor is truly cuendillar? It does not matter though. TP could break it either way.

Would it be possible to make Cuendillar using the TP?

Difficult to say. TP has been shown to be an inherently destructive power that opposes creation. Any use of it is damaging to the pattern (when Moridin travels, he literally rips holes in the pattern and hears it scream). I am uncertain if such a force could be used to create Cuendillar.
