bah! prepare to agree Foxhead Send a noteboard - 20/08/2010 01:29:31 AM
it says he never held field commands nor governed. he was also the second strongest male and gave the DO the bulk of his armies for hundreds (thousands maybe?) of years. i think he deserves higher than mesaana, graendal, asmodean and possibly belal and sammael (who wants a defensive genius when you're trying to expand?)

Aginor was a terrible General and Governor, and was only still around toward the end because he was experimenting on the Fades and making the Gholam.

I'm not sure if Asmo was any better... he was equally bad at being a general, but he did create significant chaos in the realms he governed. That's enough, I think, to endear him to the DO a bit more than Aginor. Plus, Asmo is a sycophant... he could easily have been attached to one of the more powerful Chosen, whereas Aginor was always in competition with the other more powerful Chosen. Balthamel was his sycophant.

All Aginor did, then, was create the shadowspawn early in the war... and after that, not much. As the old saying goes "what have you done for me lately?" If Aginor hadn't done anything to build up his utility to the DO, he'd probably be on the outs at the end there. His strength and the fact that he's the only one who knows exactly what he built into the shadowspawn were probably the only things keeping him from being assassinated.

He wasn't allied with any of the stronger channelers who were in better favor, that I can see, so putting him near the edge makes sense (again) to me.

to disagree! i still think he's better than those that escaped the ravages of time, but there's not much more i can add to my argument so...there!
