Name: Einor Saren
Occupation: Whitecloak Questioner
First Appearance: tGH, the shadow in shienar at "a fly speck village on the northern border of tarabon near almoth plain:

Not much to go on, i just though i'd flag up everyone on the reread that seemed suspicious. Saren meets Geofram Bornhald just before the whitecloaks battle the seanchan and get wiped out. my reasons are as follows

"he was a tall, hook nosed man with a gleam of certainty in his eyes that every questioner had"

demandred is described as hawk nosed, but it's close and the gleam of certainty could be the self assurance of being a forsaken

he is second in command to jaichim carridin, a known darkfriend. perhaps demandred is leading from the back? and that's it. not really at all convinced by it, not sure if he turns up again? can't really remember. anyway just thought i'd throw it out there

also

aginor and balthamel were loose not long before lanfear (unless they were wandering for years before they met the gang at the eye of the world) yet they were all old and lanfear was fine. if i remember right, the forsaken were at shayol ghul for a meeting during the imprisoning so how is it that some were closer to the bore? seating arrangements? were balthamel and aginor closest to the door? i don't get it

Personally, I'm not sure how Demandred would do leading from behind, especially because he turned to the Shadow because he was always "behind" someone else.

On the second issue, I think seating arrangements/general proximity are exactly why Aginor and Baalthamel were closer to the surface of the Bore. We know that they weren't currently among the top of the DO's minions. Neither had governed well, nor were they exceptional generals. They were simply selfish, devious, and strong enough, to outlast their competition.

So, they were likely seated far from the presence of the DO, however that manifested. Those who governed well, were useful to the true leaders, or who were currently serving as governors were closer.

Just my thoughts.
I was Phelix on wotmania, I will always be Phelix in the "real" world, and now I am Phelix on RAFO.
