Re: We don't know that about Compulsion - we are talking about 2 different ways to deal

Then why did LTT/Rand not do that? Why ask Nynaeve to perform an extremely delicate operation that could fail due to her lack of knowledge and which took nearly an hour, when all that was required was a quick gateway next to a stedding and pushing the boy inside?
Simple answer: Probably because LTT/Rand didn't think of it - we don't even know it that would work, hence why I said it would be an experiment. LTT/Rand did not do a lot of things that would clear the rogues' gallery out very quickly for the simple reason of plot convenience. Who knows? Maybe being in a stedding would have temporarily removed it, but it would be re-established upon exiting? No idea.
Did SH know exactly what orders Elza had been given?
Look what happened to Jain Farstrider. He was out of it, until he entered the stedding, and was better, thus the Ogier assuming Aes Sedai work.
No. Which is sort of why I would think that if he had the ability to instantly remove a weave, he'd have used it in that instance. I think he asked Semirhage to remove it for the same reason Rand asked Nynaeve; both possess a Healing Talent with a high degree of skill to back it up, so it might be the case that not every channeler can remove a Compulsion weave without destroying the victims' mind. Dealing with thoughts and chemical balances is probably more complicated than a more direct type of weave.
We don't know if instantly nullifying it would have killed Elza. She was under a very weak form of Compulsion that was nowhere near as powerful or skillfully wrought as those used on Graendal's victims. If anything, the fact that Elza appeared dazed may have more to do with Semirhages' need to inflict pain while Healing than anything else.
I should add that BS has also said or atleast implied that SH's power cutting trick only works on those who have sworn themselves to the shadow. This would mean that even if SH can disrupt tied off weaves of darkfriends, he would not have been able to do so for Cadsuanes weaves since she has not sworn to the shadow. He needed Elza to go and break the wards. The compulsion on Elza was made by a DF (Verin) yes, but again instantly nullifying it could have killed Elza as was said earlier. Bottom line is that as of yet, we don't know the full extent of SH's abilities.

The past is just that, the past. You can only truly live by looking to the future!

Yep, pretty much. Otherwise he could have just nullified the Compulsions' lingering effect on Elza
