does he? when? Foxhead Send a noteboard - 05/08/2010 10:50:31 PM
Because Rand suffers his final channeling sickness a little later when he falls sick and Milli Skane nearly gets them.

Secondly male channelers cannot sense the Power in another man, unless they are actively channeling. There is no indication that Rand was channeling at the time, so, I believe it was Rand who channeled the lightning bolt.

Also, if Gode could channel, the door would not have been a problem. Why use a bolt of lightning? Way too much overkill. Later in the EotW Moiraine just opens a locked door with the Power, when the party is escaping from Caemlyn.

Also look at how the Forsaken act... I doubt Ishamael would have sent a channeler anyways. At this point he is trying to convert. There is a very real risk of a power hungry male channeler killing Rand.

So, no. I don't think Gode was a male channeler.

the channelling sickness could be from when he first channelled in the flight from the two rivers to erase bela's fatigue

i'm not at all convinced by the theory but thought it was a fun little skewed look at the chapter, probably the silhouetted figure was an awoken hake shaking his fist at the sky for ruining his inn and the gode was drawn to the evil of mat's dagger that's been said before to be sensitive to those well steeped in the shadow
