But that still won't prevent the a'dam bracelet from opening. So the Sul'dam will still not be able to control the damane. Unless you think the Sul'dam will let the bracelet be sealed onto their wrists.
Is the bracelet as easy to open? We have only seen air used on the collar. I have a new idea though. Is there a reason why the Seanchan could not create somekind of ward or a barrier of air that prevented either the collar or bracelet from opening. An OP version of the metal-covering idea basically. This would deflect any attempt by the AS to just open the collar/bracelet, while also lacking the problems inherent in physical protections.
I don't think any of the captives know how to make it. Beonin may have revealed it, but she couldn't make it, and says as much to Elaida.
Even if the do learn how to make cuendillar, I doubt they'd waste a'dam by permanently attaching them to one person. A'dam aren't exactly easy to make.
We know that weaves can be demonstrated, even if you lack the ability/strenght to actually use them. That is how Cadsuane learned traveling. I would expect Elaida insisted on learning the weave to see if SHE could do it (with her arrogance I would expect she would have thought she could do it). Odds are Elaida knows the weaves.
As for losing an a'dam, well, this might be a bit gruesome to say but there is a rather obvious if icky way of removing an a'dam from the neck of a dead damane to be reused. That is to say, get rid of the neck. Hardly the worst thing the Seanchan have done.
I'm very confused why you think the Aes Sedai have to begin by attacking to kill the damane. They can start the attack by shielding them, and wrapping soldiers up in air, for example. That will make the damane attack as well, and then the Aes Sedai can let loose.
Sure, but this is inferior way of attack compared to just killing and will give the benefit of the first LETHAL strike to the Seanchan. Any shielded damane can be unshielded after the fight, but the same is not true for dead AS.
But look at the circle of the Sea Folk (Chanelle and co.) in KoD. That was eight women facing eight others, and one of the BA had a rod that makes Balefire. Chanelle was able to kill one, and shield all the others in one go. That is a rather major advantage.
True, however that was against AS (BA or not) and we already know they utterly suck at combat. I suspect that against channelers experienced in lethal combat the end result might have been very different. What would have happened if the BA knew things like Rands arrows and blossoms of fire and used them?
That's because these are men. It is easier for AS to shield women than men. Also, they can see the damane's weaves, as opposed to fighting something invisible with the Asha'man.
There is now a way to mask your channeling weaves, and I am pretty sure Elaida knows that too which means Seanchan will soon know it. I would expect any attack by the Seanchan will soon be done with damane masking their attacks.
Of course. But they're a major advantage in battle, as Egwene proved. Look at the minimal losses she suffered fighting the Seanchan.
She also had a very powerfull sa'angreal to aid her which is unfortunately unique. Actually, if you compare that to what Rand did with Callandor alone it does not look all that impressive. And Callandor is a flawed sa'angreal unlike the one Egwenes link had.
