I am sure the idea has been brought up before, but I would like to hear you guys' thoughts on the chances that Shadar Haran and Moridin are one in the same just as Luc/Isam?
Both had separated PoV, and in various answers RJ & BS made clear that both are independent characters.
Thanks! "ask a simple question...."
Ok then, well my first response to Etzel would be to please provide the answers RJ & BS gave that made clear that both are independant characters.
The reasons for my theory...
SH exhibits characteristics that are more human than Fade. One the one hand, this could simply be the characteristics of a "superfade." We havent seen other superfades so we cant compare. On the other hand, since he is the DO's Hand, he is clearly closely connected to the DO, however, it is hard to accept that his non-fade-ness comes from the DO's personality. These characteristics appear human. A connection with a human could explain where they come from.
This is entirely based on old recollection, but dont we see SH appear after Ishy's death and sometime in the story around when the "watcher" (moridin) appears?
Moridin is Nae'blis (apparrently) and Shadar Haran is the DO's Hand.
They have acted in concert on at least one occastion. I can recall one scene where SH exits and Moridin enters in SG. I beleive this was with Moggy. I can be wrong there on the person.
They both appear to be strictly following the DO's bidding. I can be wrong, but i do not recall outside scheming by either. I do recall SH expressing a desire to be free from the connection to SG. But this can be interpreted several ways. One way is literally free from servitude to the DO. Another is simply free from being bound to SG to the extent that he weakens over time and/or distance.
However, despite the proximity of goals, purpose and actions, we have never seen them together. Moreover, we have never seen either one refer to the other. I find this very odd.
Also, that SH and Moridin each were not at the cleansing raises an eyebrow.
In response to the PoV argument, i would say that while convincing, it is not conclusive. Each PoV of a Luc/Isam persona is independant of eachother. The fact that we have not seen one persona refer to the other does not conclusively disprove that a juxtaposed persona exists.
Also throwing this out there for an explanation, perhaps the Nae'blis is the DO's vessel.

I haven't seen those answers either so I'm interested. I don't think they're the same

Your reasoning falls apart right at the start, even though there is some truth to the rest, I think.
