Re: As mentioned above, your theory is not about defeating Oath Rod.

I think Brandon hinted that there is a way to defeat the Rod itself, not the whole Aes Sedai process around taking the Oath.
For some months now I have the following theory:
- to swear the Oath again, the Aes Sedai are un-swearing them;
- since Mesaana didn't swear any Oath, we actually don't know what happens when you are un-swearing them while never swearing in the first place;
- my theory is that such process creates a Oath-negative effect for the channeler, and when the channeler actually swears the Oath, its effect is cancelled by the Oath-negative effect;
- this may actually be tied to the physics of the Rod and so Brandon's words hold true.

However, Mesanna did have oathes, just not the 3 AS ones. She had oathes to the DO and as shown by the BA hunters the OR cancels those. I don't recall if the "unswearing" was ever fully depicted in the novels but I think it would be a simple "I forswear all oathes previously made"
How did Mesaana beat the Oath Rod?

That isn't tricking the oath rod, the way I'm understanding his answer. That's tricking humans *NM*

Perhaps she pressed, and held the on/off switch, so that the Oaths never triggered? *NM*

Or she didn't swear on it, because she's a servant.

A true power invisible glove is better than a one power invisible glove. *NM*

I doubt Mesaana stands high enough to have TP access right now. She's probably the lowest FS. *NM*

Yeah I realize what I presented was kinda the opposite of what I was going for.

I think the OR is tied to a channelers connection to the OP and nothing else
