Oh, there's nothing particularly wrong with your theory. It's just that it's overly plot-driven for my taste and it would basically cheapen any development in Rand's character, not to mention making that chapter entirely stupid and utterly pointless.


It shows how corrupted Rand had become, and the bitch of her surviving would be that Rand murdered all those people and missed his target in the process ... hell of a lesson IMO
