how do you get there from this? darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 12/07/2010 05:47:42 PM
***Brandon*** Re: Will we see Rand in the next book? YES. The book will not be a 100% flash-back like Bk 10. There will be a little bit of catch-up for Perrin, but Egwene and Rand both have large parts too.

***Brandon*** Thing is, Elayne was way ahead of everyone else in her plotline. (Meaning what she needed to get done.) And so, with great regret, I moved her to TofM.

***Brandon*** Re: Is Rand up to date with Elayne. To be honest, Luckers, I'd have to go look at my timeline. I'm pretty sure Rand was at June (our world months) at the end of TGS. Perrin ended at beginning of April. Elayne...grrr Can't remember. But Rand/Egwene are in sync with one another as of the end of that book. I think Elayne is just a tad behind.

Makes it yet less likely that there will be an on-screen Graendal flashback, possibly meeting Aran'gar, from before Graendal's death (as some believe might happen, because it would be "cool", and otherwise Graendal couldn't reveal in her PoV that she killed Asmo, since RJ wanted to reveal it in the killer's PoV...).

Graendal was a part of Rand's plot- and timeline, which is basically up to date; the same applies to Aran'gar in Egwene's plotline, which was also sufficiently advanced in TGS. No reason to suddenly jump back in the respective timelines regarding these two Forsaken (though Aran'gar might think in her next PoV about a last meeting with Graendal).

he says Rand won't have flashback time. Nothing to indicate that Graendal won't be shown this way.

Again, there is no sensible reason for a scene where Graendal is shown again before her death. *NM* - 14/07/2010 04:47:21 PM 699 Views
sure there is ... to tell us she killed Asmo - 14/07/2010 04:56:09 PM 910 Views

Well, it fits RJ's theme that the bad guys actually aren't that competent. *NM* - 15/07/2010 04:12:19 PM 864 Views
No really since it would make Aran'gar look pretty competent *NM* - 16/07/2010 03:27:40 PM 351 Views
