As one can e.g. read in the Guide or Strike at SG - but as also common sense tells - the Bore is a "hole" through a thinness in the Pattern to the DO, not a "global weakness" (you can't Seal a global weakness!).

It's basically the same principle like a Gateway, though it's of course a very special Gateway; likely only a AoL scientist could explain, how it exactly worked.
