Rand's death will be faked--probably his idea--with an elaborate funeral with his women.
His "blood on the rocks" I've always assumed just means the Aiel.
If he doesn't contrive some fake death, then I've always thought he'd just switch places--so to speak--with Logain. That at least fits with Min's viewing of Logain and glory.

Totally agreed on the body switching. I have always thought that Rand might be Transmigrated into Logan's body (hey if the DO can do it why not the Creator???). I remember Thom talking to Elayne (spelling? sorry Im in a rush to get out the door) on the seafolk ship in TDR about the histories and names changing and (this isn't a direct quote) joking that Rand probably wouldn't even be remembered in the next age. That history would maybe say someone else saved the day. I always thought that could have been a bit of foreshadowing on RJ's part, and I think that that could also be what is "odd" about Avhienda's babies. In Min's veiwing she says they are all going to be healthy but something would be odd about them. I think it could be that Rand in Logan's body will elope with her (probably giving birth after the last battle) and she will get pregnant with "Rand's" children. Rand will fight the last battle in Logans body, and that will be Logan's glory in Min's viewing. To go down in history as the "real" dragon reborn, also fulfilling the "to live you must die" thing Rand has been pondering. Not sure I "REALLY" believe this, but they are thoughts I have had.

This may deserve its own thread, but is the Dragon a Hero of the Horn? Are any Channelers Heroes?

I always took this to indicate that the channelers have active trait potential for Pattern-twisting
