But they did serve a number of purposes, like bringing Perrin and the Seanchan together. But I never understood why Therava and her group didn't just rip Sevanna to shreds and take control themselves. Sevanna was a huge disappointment ... always wondered what that ter'angreal Sammael gave her was supposed to do!

And if not that, then it was because Sevanna was technically the 'clan chief' by virtue of being Couladin's widow and wanting to marry Rand. I think.

Being Aiel, the Shaido still follow Aiel customs.

What exactly was the ter'angreal? Was it a stasis box?


None of that stopped them from killing another WO in LoC to convince the Shaido to attack the AS. And they certainly dropped other Aiel customs as they saw fit, wetlander gaishain, raping those same welanders etc... their clan was literally falling apart around them thanks to Sevanna and they stood by and did nothing.

I don't think we were ever told anything beyond "it would give her control of Rand" ... she started to use it when he was in the AS hands, but that was the last we saw of it. Could have been another of Sammael's tricks too!
