One of the big theories going - one I'd simply assumed a while back - is that Rand's "connection" to Moridin will allow him to somehow "switch" bodies when he dies. This is supported by the fact that we have visions of Rand surviving his death, and visions of him removing a mask from his face. It just screams that he will seem to be someone else.
In retrospect, there are some problems with it. The big one is: I don't know what effect the DO's death/sealing will have on Morry, but that guy's channeling the "true power" all the time. This makes suddenly being a dark-haired former-Chosen a little less appealing, right?

I admit, given a lot of the speculation about Moridin, that this is a possibility. I think it would kinda be a kick in the teeth to WoT fans everywhere if, at the end of it all, Rand was put into the body of the Dark One's Nae Blis. I'm personally very skeptical as to what caused Rand's connection to Moridin (other than the fact they they are the chosen champions of the two opposing dieties. The physical clues, like Moridin stretching his hand after Rand lost his, almost seem to imply that this connection is a more physical and literal connection than a mystical abstract connection. I think the TP or OP might be involved, as well as any number of AoL things we may or may not know about. The connection seems faintly reminiscent of mindtraps.
I digress; I think the connection between them is material, and would not allow the transfer of a complete personality into a new body without some divine intervention, and a lack of divine intervention is what sparked this line of reasoning in the first place
Or Rand might somehow make someone else look like him. He might sacrifice someone (or a dead body) to fool the Shadow into thinking he's dead. Or he might go into TG with a decoy somehow. There's something from the Prophecies that adds an extra twist to it: someone who gets Callandor after Rand will "follow after." It's really a thin thread, but it could be interpreted to mean that whoever handed Callandor to Rand (Narishma?, IIRC) might have a deeper connection to Rand. What better connection than serving as Rand's new body? Or the decoy that makes everyone think Rand is gone?
I think these clues probably refer to Logain as being the one to come after despite what little evidence there may be for Narishma. Min had her viewing as they fled Tar Valon of him with a crown, signaling glory and greatness to come. We know that both men and women know how to weave a mask of mirrors, invert it, and block the ability to sense they can channel. It is possible, then, that Logain may disguise himself as Rand to be the decoy at TG, and wield Callandor.
It has been made pretty clear IMO that Logain opposes Taim's faction at the Black Tower (duh) and actually strongly supports the Light, possibly to the point of being willing to risk his life to help Rand buy some time at TG, and best of all he is still sane! Admittedly, there are holes in this theory just like any other... thoughts?

This may deserve its own thread, but is the Dragon a Hero of the Horn? Are any Channelers Heroes?

I always took this to indicate that the channelers have active trait potential for Pattern-twisting
