All 3 of his current women offer specific necessities the Dragon can't live without. Min and her viewing, Aviendha brings the Aiel and Elayne the AS.
He has he Aiel without Aviendha. You could make a better case that the Aiel brought him Aviendha. He isn't into her to make the Aiel follow him, the Aiel all but stripped her naked and tossed her into his bed. Though she has had good intentions in that regard, I completely fail to see how Elayne has actually done anything to bring him the AS. In any event, the Amyrlin Seat would be better suited for that, if she was so inclined, and Egwene would be in a better position to do so than Elayne, since placing a love interest above the Tower would be a grave misstep in Tower politics, whereas Egwene, if she ever gets around to promoting Rand's agenda, can claim that she is putting the greater good above everything, and even make herself seem admirable for placing her beloved Tower below the world's interests. I doubt very much that looks or OP strength have anything to do with Rand,
The latter, at least, is all-important to sidious.especially since Min can't channel at all! If the Pattern wanted a "more suitable" mate for Rand it would have spun such a woman out.
Agreed. You can't even argue that the world or culture is unsuited to produce superwoman. Really, it is more difficult to make a superior man from this female-dominated society. The fact that it didn't tells me that the Pattern actually needed these 3 woman to be separate individuals for a specific reason.
The Creator couldn't decide which of the possible love interests he developed he should give his hero, so he tried to have his cake and eat it too.On a side note I find it rather funny that you think Mierin was the "ultimate woman", except for that pesky personality which lead her to be one of the most evil beings of all time ... beauty and OP strength do not make someone "higher quality", IMO she's one of the most flawed characters in the books. So much so that ALL she is is beauty and OP strength. Painfully cliche actually.
For sidious, what else is there?Early in the series I thought she was a great character, but over the years I've lost all interest in her because she's kind of pathetic, this is a person who could have done anything she wanted but instead acts like a spoiled child and completely focuses on what she can't have. She's also become so completely predictable that she's not even fun to read about anymore. Personally I'm glad that she's Mindtrapped, at least that way she's got errands to run and stays out of the way.
Barefoot & in the kitchen as it were.
