That's a good example. :)
I don't know if tied off weaves will last forever. If that were true, then the Forsaken would just have woven useless things in large quantities of the OP and tied them off (inverted of course so no one could find them). That way, only the True Power could continue to exist and all the One Power would be in an unuseable phase.

The problem with that is that this would cripple the forsaken aswell. Since TP is so lethal to wield, only Moridin channels it freely, the rest only in extreme emergencies. The forsaken would not support anything that would eliminate OP and would likely infact oppose it. And I suspect the OP is vast enough that Moridin alone could not tie off enough weaves to make a significant difference.

As for the RJ quote I looked and only found this:

Week 7 Question: I would like to ask about knotting a weave. Does a channeler determine how long it will last when she knots it or is it dependent on her strength? If a channeler who knotted a weave died, would the weave dissipate immediately?

Robert Jordan Answers: The length of time the knot lasts is the choice of whoever makes the knot. It is not strength-dependent. And the knot would continue in existence if the channeler died, at least if the channeler had not set it to unravel in a certain time. Remember, tying off a weave is a way to keep the weave in existence without having to actually channel to maintain it, so once it is tied off, there is really no need for the channeler to continue living for the weave to be maintained.

Moghedien also seems to have had this skill, which makes sense since she is more skilled than Asmo - 21/05/2010 05:27:43 PM 371 Views
Is Mogs more skilled than Asmo or was it Nyn being less skilled than Lanfear? - 21/05/2010 06:32:47 PM 376 Views
I think Moghedien is very skilled but lacks the motivation or desire to be openly aggressive - 21/05/2010 09:24:40 PM 338 Views
I'm of two minds there - 22/05/2010 12:40:10 AM 359 Views

I don't like her personality, but I like her character way more than Moridin and others! - 25/05/2010 08:03:39 PM 317 Views
I guess what I'm saying is that I think what you are talking about isn't really OP skill IMO - 25/05/2010 11:21:58 PM 316 Views
