Is there any evidence for that? I don't remember an example from the books where a weave continued to exist after the person died.

The most obvious weave existing after the channelers died is the weave that shielded Callandor from everyone except the Dragon Reborn. That lasted for 3000 years which is way beyond the lifespan of a channeler. I also have a vague memory of RJ confirming that tied off weaves last forever, but I am too lazy to look it up right now.

Well, there is the Ramashalan dude from tGS. Graendal tied off her Compulsion on him, then it disappeared after she died. But that might be due to the balefire effect, though.

This has been debated about a lot, but unless there is some hidden trickery then yes, balefire was responsible.

Infact the point was that Graendals compulsion causes severe brain damage and even after its unraveled its effects remain to some extent (which is why that boy died after Nynaeve unraveled the compulsion). By using balefire to kill Graendal, Rand made it so the weave was never made in the first place so there was no compulsion and also no residual damage. That is how he knew that Graendal was dead.

Moghedien also seems to have had this skill, which makes sense since she is more skilled than Asmo - 21/05/2010 05:27:43 PM 370 Views
Is Mogs more skilled than Asmo or was it Nyn being less skilled than Lanfear? - 21/05/2010 06:32:47 PM 374 Views
I think Moghedien is very skilled but lacks the motivation or desire to be openly aggressive - 21/05/2010 09:24:40 PM 337 Views

I guess what I'm saying is that I think what you are talking about isn't really OP skill IMO - 25/05/2010 11:21:58 PM 314 Views
