I'm not sure there's much evidence that Power-wrought materials drain Myrddraal blades, though it is fun to speculate. Lan has fought Myrddraal with his sword several times and I've never seen this suggestion before. And didn't Tam also use his power-wrought sword that he later gave to Rand? In that case the theory would actually be disproved.

No evidence that I know of. As you say, I am just speculating and throwing ideas around for fun. I see nothing wrong with that so long as I don't falsely claim those ideas are proven.

That being said, I don't know if the explanations you gave exactly disprove the idea either. I mean one would expect that since Lan is still alive, he actually killed all the Myrddraal that came after him so there was never a time to test if his blade damaged their blades. He never got hurt. Thom is the only one in the books that fought a Myrddraal with OP-blade, lost the fight and got nonfatally wounded and then survived the "poison" afterwards.

As for Tam, do we even know if Tam fought any Myrddraal? I thought he fought in some human wars or the Aiel conflict. And even if he did, I would presume that he killed his opponent the same as Lan. Unless you refer to the injury he got in book 1. It is not described so we don't know if he managed to hit the opponents sword enough time to counter its power.

I will say however that the other idea about the Myrddraal blades draining in power which I brought in an earlier message does have support from Demandred. It is still speculative ofcourse since we don't know any of the details about how it happens, but it is still a potential explanation that seems to make some sense.

Thom survived because the batteries in the Myrddraals sword had run out and he had not had the time to get them recharged by the DO at Thakan'dar. The Myrddraal should have used Energizer

Of course one possibility is that the ta'veren's proximity to Thom made a one in a million chance of surviving a myrddraal stab wound into a certainty. Stranger things have happened.

It is possible.
