Do the Ogier in Seanchan live in Steddings as well? Wouldn't the Gardeners have to go home sometimes? It dousn't sound very "Seanchan" to have rotating guards who have to go back to the Stedding and relax for years at a time even if they are large and long-lived.

The Ogier of Seanchan have not developped the Longing because they haven't lost their stedding as much during the Breaking (that wasn't as bad as in the Westlands). There's also more stedding on their continent.

But yeah, I think they live mostly in their stedding. They can leave them for prolonged periods of time because they haven't developped that atavic fear of having lost the stedding for good, which means an Ogier can serve as Gardener most of his life if he wishes. But I think the Garderners aside, most Ogier probably still prefer to live in their stedding and the core of their communities are there.
