It would be great if we finally got some tortured introspection from Perrin. In fact, what I am really hoping for is that the plot progresses very slowly, or not at all, while we repeatedly get Perrin's diversity of thought regarding his current inner struggle.

Bloody hell, boy! I love me some wolves, and used to generally dig Perrin, but he's agitating me in a way that only Egwene used to be able to - badly, at best.

Okay, it's scary to realize that you could end up like Noam. But is the possibility really that fear-inspiring? Noam may be into chew-chews and dragging his rear across the ground in hard times, but he isn't having to deal with, off the utmost top of my head:

1.)Aiel, 2.)Seanchan, 3.)the Dark One, 4.)watching his former childhood friends turn into tyrants and evil mythological figures, 5.)the moral issues of chopping off a man's hand who probably had it coming, 6.)Aes Sedai up his arse, 7.)possible evil One Power users lurking about in his very own camp, 8.)a moody, scheming, jealous wife, 9.)and the realization that reality itself is getting ready to unravel and be remade by a being that personifies evil. So, becoming like Noam warrants that amount of terror how, exactly?

Dude, outside all that, aren't you bigtime ta'veren? Do you think the Pattern is really gonna toss you aside and let you live in a den, gnawing on a deer bone? Hmmph. As useless as he's been, he may be more suited to just that - Elyas can take over. Just stop it already with the inner-struggling. Even your boy Rand has already fixed himself spiritually or what-have-you, and his mental turmoil has been monumental!
