I think that what is needed are channelers... all of them. The white tower has been and still is an obstacle to progress in many areas, scientificly, socialy, politicly ect. The maintenence and mabey even creation of the status quo has put humanity at a disadvantage in perilous times. The word Aes Sedai means "servants of all" in the old tounge. Its not an arguable point as to weather or not women channelers serve the people or the towers\ajahs\thier own personal interests. Scince there are really no Aes Sedai in the strictest sense any way ,what is need are weapons for Tarmongidon and women from the tower are not completly usless.I belive the tower is no longer needed for it represents an antiquated form of general governance that will not be needed in a new world where women won't hunt men who can channel or set themselves above men simply because only women can channel,an attitude that has permeated society ( the womens circle, mostly queens in all nations, women running many businesses, ect). So channelers are needed , men and women but not the tower as an orginization. People follow leaders who produce results weather they can channel or not are noble or not ect.
Does Rand really need the White Tower?

No. I can understand/appreciate the arguments, but IMHO the White Tower AS are not that valuable

Meh. Growing pains. And unlike the White Tower split, this will not be a refreshing shake-up
