I am also a psychology major and I get a kick out of some of his gimmicks. It took me a while to warm up to the head lady cop but I really liked her character at the end of the season. The other things I liked about the show was that the other cops play a role and aren't just dumb fodder, they have good character development.

Edit: Oh, the show did start off a little slow for me and took several episodes to get rolling, but once it did I really enjoyed the season.
