I mean where to begin with what is wrong with this movie. Well with what is right I guess - they didn't try and remake the original, that was a good decision.
But as for what they did make. It's rushed, it has massive inconsistencies, the characters all appear to be dead inside, the gods are laughable (why is Zeus wrapped in tinfoil?), and the big bad Kraken is about as scary as the giant kitten that invaded London in The Goodies.
The 'star' of the show Sam Worthington spends the whole movie trying to channel the spirit of Russell Crowe, which is not a good thing, and his revenge motivation just does not ring true. Having removed the love and sacrifice element to a large extent, they really weakend the central plot. Also the whole beginning and him being revealed as a Demigod was really rushed, badly thought out, and just felt wrong.
IO seemed to have no real point in this movie but to throw some totty on screen, and don't get me wrong it's top totty (nice legs), but really that's it.
Our band of merry men accompanying Perseus have all the character of a prefabricated plastic patio chair. I cared not one jot about any of them, and was quite glad when the last one died. As for the Djinn?!? I mean what the fuck was that about? Plot device anyone? But a plot device to what? A suicide bombing that didn't actually do anything? I have NO idea why these guys were in the movie. Even the Scorpions, made no sense, if they were created by Calibos blood, then how do the Djinn know about them? Or were they only attracted by Calabos blood, in which case, well that's a bit rubbish. And they walked at about 2mph, I hardly think they saved time traveling on them.
Hades involvement was laughable and seemed to have no purpose other than to set up a nice easily defined goody/baddy god scene. Calibos was alos very weak, especially compared to the 1981 original.
All in all a really bad movie, not because of any comparison to 1981, not because of any comparison to the Greek Mythology, but just in it's own right as a movie. Having read the post above about the script changes, that explains some of it, but by no means all of it.
Give it a miss.

If you get a chance, try to see the original. Ultimately, I think it's a better story than the 2010. *NM*
