It really isn't an easy topic for many to stomach (and I hipe I didn't portray it as simple entertainment). Drug addiction and the criminal life is really fucked up.I think the show portrays just how disturbing a lot of the behavior in that lifestyle is in those first few episodes when Walt and Jesse are trying to work up the guts to deal with Krazy-8 and his cousin.
I think the show does a good job of portraying the nastiness of the drug business and addiction. There is an episode in Season 2 when Jesse has to go and deal with a couple of addicts that rob one of his dealers of some drugs and money. That episode is super disturbing and gross and offers a view into meth addiction that is stunning (and worthy of awards for make-up/costume and acting).
