Sayid's been shot by Ben's dad! Sayid's dying! No, he's going to the Temple, same as kid-Ben did after Sayid shot him! Nope, Sayid's dead. Nope, Sayid's alive! (odd that neither Jack nor Kate reveal the slightest twinkle of remembrance of that incident, and stare in disbelief at the curative waters, when they know something in the Temple cured Ben)

And then there's Weird Cindy. From friendly flight attendant, to kidnap victim, to overnight full-blown Stockholm-esque syndrome (she always seems right at home with the Others), to...not sure what. Sure doesn't flinch at the idea that Jack & co will be summarily shot. I can only wonder what her backstory is. As I recall from the end of Season 4, Richard was supposed to lead the Others to the Temple, 'the only safe place left on the Island'. That's where Ben tried to send Alex. Three years later, we find these Others living as we had assumed they lived before Season 2 introduced the Dharmaville barracks--hobos in the jungle. Were these folks there all along, a kind of second colony of Others, separate from the Dharmaville dwellers? What language is the head guy speaking? Is it Japanese?

Welcome to a new, bizarre season, I guess.

I was happy to see Claire again. I missed her.
