I loved the show. But I absolutely hated the mini-series. *spoilers*

It started out good. I really enjoyed the beginning. Sure, it hurt when they blew up the hub, but I was going with it.
But then Jack, who's been alive for ages now and has dealt with various aliens over and over again, marched up in there with absolutely no plan whatsoever and...threatened them. With no tangible threat. What? That just made no sense to me. Nothing. He had nothing. Nothing to bargain with or kill them with or anything. Why would he do that??
Then when Ianto is dying (pointlessly), and he's trying to tell Jack he love him, Jack tells him to save his breath. For what?? He wasn't suffocating! It was a disease!
And Jack, who has lost so many loved ones over the years, suddenly can't function at all? He couldn't even throw out a 'love you too' to a dying man but now, oh how he suffers! He goes meekly off to sit in jail until someone else 'rescues' him and practically forces him to come up with a plan.
Although I did enjoy watching Frobisher die. He was an idiot and completely deserved a pointless death. I do wish he hadn't taken his family with him though.
And how is it that the entire British government and UNIT are completely evil if Martha isn't around to keep them in line? All of them? Really?
There is no Torchwood now! Their home is gone. Ianto, Owen, and Tosh are dead. Gwen's knocked up. And Jack ran away from home. The only hope is that maybe RTD is planning to hit the reset button with the end of his run with Doctor Who. But I have a feeling he's planning on just making it worse.
