how a man with such dedicated and almost fanatical followers, many of whom will watch anything he makes just because he made it (and I count myself in that group, yes ), keeps getting the chop, and somehow still has to go back to Fox as apparently nobody else is willing to take him and let him do his thing long-term.
He keeps getting the chop as no one watches his shows. He has to go back to Fox as every other network knows no one watches his shows and they are winning the ratings. Fox keep giving him a gig as they are hoping for another Buffy. Simple.
