I like hulu, and don't want to pay, but I could see dropping a little money on it (if shows were that important to me).
As it is, I use the shows' websites whenever I can.

If Hulu were to become a paid service it's likely the networks would do away with their streaming services completely, or change theirs to a subscription as well. Hulu is owned by ABC, Fox, and NBC after all, so they would have an interest in making the subscription service work, and the best way to do that would be to pull their own free streaming services.
If they want me not to watch their shows, I can kindly oblige.
I know I'm probably in the minority, but if I can't easily fit TV into my schedule, it goes bye-bye. If I miss a show one week and can't make it up online, I'm less likely to try to watch (confusedly) the next week.
Soon, you'll have to pay for Hulu

I'm getting a little tired of everyone going on about how stupid companies are.
