If it were true about the sleeping though, wouldn't they have some statistical time zone evidence to support that? You'd think it would be obvious if areas experiencing midnight to 4am time in the FlashForward would have an inordinately larger number of people without flash forwards compared to other areas of the world who are experiencing 10a to 8p.
In the Senate hearing, the CIA director blamed the blackouts on the Chinese because they had the least casualties and how that was convienent. But they wouldn't necessarily have the evidence regarding sleeping if it was the Chinese. Although there would be some, from other countries in the same time zone.
