They were Knights so it is hardly surprising they mostly male. I really don't understand the need to believe females can be as effective as men in hand to hand combat. Yes the force is an equalizer but the need to push that fantasy goes well beyond this movie.

Same formula as needing to kill off the mentor to allow the student to rise the formula they are using to have dominant female is weak and emotionally damaged supporting male roles.
