I just never felt the tension. LiterateDog Send a noteboard - 13/05/2015 12:32:18 PM

I wanted to feel it, but I never felt any of the main characters were really in danger. The throwaway nature of the robots just limited their ability to be menacing, to me.

For a character being killed, they killed Pietro/Quicksilver as you know, but now I read he may somehow come back and, frankly, I didn't give a crap about him anyway. I last read X-Men/Avengers in like 1991, so I have no idea how convoluted the character has become but his origin being completely divorced from my memories didn't help me in caring about him.

And yeah, it was about saving people, but again, there was no real tension about that for me. You knew they'd do it in time. I mean, I know that's a flaw in almost all movies: you know the hero(es) will save the day in the end. But, there are ways to best make the audience still feel some tension about the outcome. Here, I just didn't get it.

Remember, I wanted to love this movie. I am a huge fan of the MCU and the last 2 films (CA:TWS and GOTG) have really shone. I was just disappointed is all. It wasn't a bad film, but wasn't anything great either. I have high hopes for the upcoming ones. But, then, I did for this one as well and look what that go me.
