That does sound quite disheartening. The Hobbit project was always going to be criticized by a lot of people, but still, so far I already thought they could have done so much better with it... if this is still more disappointing, that doesn't bode well.

Regardless, I already made plans to go see it on Tuesday, in any case I would want to see it, as you say it's kind of the end of an era after all.
