And I really hope it won't be the case. I like all of the core group, but Glenn and Maggie are the ones that really seem like the nicest all around, like the sort of people that you might be friends with in real life. They're also the only ones that have found some semblance of happiness out of the apocalypse, so it would be pretty crushing for one of them to die, as devastating for me as a viewer as losing Judith would be for them as a group.
Speaking of Judith, the scene with Michonne holding her was pretty amazing, and very moving. I'm guessing that Michonne had a baby at some point, but it died somehow. And Michonne clearly has some stuff in her history that causes her to be the way she is, holding herself to such high standards, wishing that she would be left behind if she falls behind, still trying to be a loner, etc. Holding the baby broke through that shell, at least temporarily, and that was great to see.
Also loved Rick taking up his gun, and giving Carl back his. It was a pretty symbolic moment, and the right step for the plot, Rich again assuming his role as a leader rather than idling in self imposed penance. And I'm glad Carl got his weapon back. I never had a problem with him killing the other kid/guy at the end of season 3, and I'm glad this season isn't dwelling on that plot point longer than it needed to.
All in all, a really good episode, in my opinion, and a big improvement on the first one. Really looking forward to tonight's.
