I certainly don't avoid interacting with those who disagree with me on most things.

Sort of pride myself on being able to get along well with people from all kinds of backgrounds and not letting political or philosophical disagreements get in my way, in fact.
Of course, that works best by not bringing up such bones of contention in conversations that are intended to focus on something else, and by bringing them up, when required, in a way that doesn't cause any more offense than it needs to.
View original postObviously, that isn't meant to encourage hate speech, but statements within the accepted norms of human behavior really shouldn't be censored.
Absolutely agree with that, but I don't know where you see "censorship" here. Just like I had a right to write what I did, BG had one to express what her gut reaction to my post was, and then I in turn had a right to amend my post to express better what had in any case been my original intent - to poke fun at Americans while simultaneously acknowledging the self-righteousness and the perhaps subconscious jealousy in the statements of those in Europe who get really worked up on the subject.

No. "Puritan prudishness" characterizes much of America perfectly. Leave it in.

Either way though, it caused the thread to derail into quite unintended directions.

I think it's silly and thin-skinned to get offended at statements of the obvious.

I fail to see any snarkiness, or who would be "irked".

Perhaps my Americentrism is showing, but I don't understand.

Either way, you guys, the point of my review was that this was more than just a sex movie.

It sounds interesting but the director sounds like a total idiot

Well, a few more movies like this and he'll have a reputation that allows him to act that way.

Yeah, surprisingly enough, that longest scene really did get sort of boring.

I seem to recall the author of the graphic novel, Julie Maroh, also criticising the sex scenes
