View original postI am pretty much at a loss when it comes to interpreting your comment though. I think I liked the show because a couple of the important characters had a lot of depth, and Veronica herself was completely unlike any female character I had ever watched. She was intelligent, strong and moral, but she also had real and consistent flaws. I also loved the way characters reacted to her and accomodated her in their occupation of the world of the show. Little things, like the Vice Principal setting her up to take out his boss and clear the way for him to get the top job. People, without having entire episodes dedicated to revelations and insights, adjusted their attitudes and learned to take her in stride, and where necessary, avail themselves of her skills. There was just something about all that which rang true. The humor had the same kind of feel, particularly in the way Veronica would take vindictive pleasure in embarassing people, or be very conscious of the drama or irony in a situation, and play to that in her comments.

But as I said, once I saw it, it did make sense that you'd like her and the show.

Agreed. Somehow I'm not sure what I'll make of the movie - season three was by far the weakest, too - but the first two season in particular were fantastic television.
