My other issue is that from the beginning this show (as I've seen it) has been about unintended consequences. When Walter crossed over to cure Peter, there were consequences, when Walter instead brought Peter back with him there were consequences, etc. When they sent Michael to the future with Walter things somehow worked out exactly how they wanted them to. I was hoping to see a reset to at least the early days of season 1. This would have given the expected reset while also showing the ongoing theme of unintended consequences.
I don't want to get into a fight over where the reset should happen, but I felt compelled to point this out.
At the end of season 3 (I'm pretty sure) when Peter joined the universes together with the Doomsday machine, the whole backstory of the characters was reset. Peter didn't even exist in that reality anymore.
That means that September never saved his life anyway. You can find all sorts of other plot holes here, but arguing that the lack of Observer September to save Peter means that the whole thing falls apart isn't accurate.
So Fringe has ended for good...*spoilers*
