I mean, the White Council part actually happened, even though we didn't see it. Fleshing it out a bit could be done well and make it fun. I could even see making the Hobbit into two movies that way.
It didn't deserve three. I was already vowing not to go see it. I have even less desire to see it now that I heard that Thorin has an "orc nemesis".
