From my FB,
"The name of the film may include the words Star Trek. But from the footage released so far, the spirit has nothing to do with what Gene Roddenberry envisioned. When will the turn to apocalyptic/darkness/dystopian finally end? I grow weary of the minds who think the future will be so bleak."

I am no big fan of stories that take the "things will be very fucked up in a few (hundred) years" approach. I am quite optimistic myself.
But I don't really think that's what's happening here. I suppose the federation and its ideals still stand. It's just one psycho or a group of villains messing things up and us getting some action out of it. Every good Sci-Fi story needs that

What? Jens has not posted the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer? I am shocked.

I am anti the words Star Trek being attached to this film.

I suppose I am tired of the reboots being "dark", having lots of explosions, etc
