I think he has a pretty good take on it. It's not like anything else you'll see. It's complicated and trying to unravel everything inside it is a tall order, but the high emotions and themes and messages of the thing can't even be properly explained. They've got to be experienced through the movie itself. Some people won't care for that. Some people will get lost in its shifting narrative, or will be annoyed by the re-use of actors in every story. Some people simply won't be able to understand what Tom Hanks and Halle Berry are saying in the super-cool post-apocalyptic islander dialect, which reads like amazing but sometimes sounds like mumbling. But for my money, that was the most fascinating and engaging movie (both intellectually and emotionally) I've seen in years.
