Just finished watching Battlefield Earth, and I have to say, "I didn't find it completely horrible." It wasn't an excellent movie by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn't call it the worst. There were plenty of plot holes and the story left much to be desired, but I'd say that's true of most movies. The worst part of it for me was how a small explosion (on a planetary scale) destroyed the Psyclos homeworld. 3.5 stars out of 10 is my verdict.
Also, I had always wanted to watch this, but never got around to it and I'm only now seeing it because I happened to see it on Netflix.

Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.

Worst movie ever? Hardly.

I did like the book. I mean, I was 15, and it's been that long since I read it. But I did like it.

The novel isn't that bad. It's basically a weird homage to pulp adventure stories
