The only thing I hated about the Ponds' departure was that we were made to love Brian right off the bat but had no closure with him. My heart was his nearly from the beginning, but when he whacked a pterodactyl with his trowel, I was his for all eternity.
When we had no closure to his part of the story, I felt we (the audience AND Brian) were dealt a raw deal.
This storyboard... I hope it is counted as canon. I would have loved it as a scene after the credits. I would love it if, someday, the Doctor goes to see Brian, and we get this scene. (He saw Wilf again after Donna, so why couldn't he see Brian.) I'm so glad Rory bought a trowel. I cried for two days after watching this.
