This is tremendously ironic, you realize... Cannoli Send a noteboard - 25/09/2012 09:55:25 PM
I know I'm probably exaggerating, but it seems like you only post negative things...If you do, it seems that you gloss over the good parts and point out the negative things... Some people revel in the bad stuff, as if they seek to validate their opinion about how miserable life is.

Glossing over the good and pointing out the bad is pretty much what you are doing with my posts.

Glancing back over the threads I have started in 2012 (i.e., the stuff I chose to discuss on my own initiative; reacting to others' posts is more likely if I disagree, for the simple fact that agreement leaves me with less to say) there are

Good:
- Review of "The Wire"
- Anticipatory post about "The Grey"
- Positive post about "Glee"
- Overall positive review of "Phantom Menace 3D"
- Posted an article I liked, with positive speculation about "Walking Dead"
- Review of "The Avengers"
- Review of "Battleship"
- Review of "Dark Knight Rises"
- Review of "The Expendables 2"

Bad:
- Rant about "Alcatraz"
- Critical discussion of "GoT" 2.4
- Snarking about anticipated plot holes in Avengers
- Critical review of "Ted"
- Critical review of "Rock of Ages"
- Critical review of "2016"
- Critical review of four (mostly second-tier) movies
- Snark post about an old "Lost" issue

Either/Both:
- Discussion of attitudes in "Boardwalk Empire"
- Review of second half of "Walking Dead" noting occasions for hope & skepticism
- Casting coincidence discussion
- Observations about the cast commentaries on GoT DVDs
- Humor post about AMC shows
- Critical and positive review of "Cabin in the Woods"
- Positive review of "Total Recall" with several criticisms and plot issues
- Survey about TV families
- Criticism of fan reactions in defense of genre creators
- Mention of Michael Clarke Duncan's death

That's nine overtly positive posts to eight explicitly negative posts. What is more, I doubt my opinion differs from the great majority on most of those negative movie reviews, while at the same time, the general public would almost certainly not be as charitable as I was in the posts on the positive list.

I think what you are doing is picking out the bad stuff I post, while glossing over the good!

Quick survey for new season. (also, I believe you mean "points." Lines have to go somewhere) - 25/09/2012 03:56:33 PM 525 Views

Who says I don't enjoy it? (And if I were a misanthrope, ruining it for others would be the point) - 25/09/2012 06:20:55 PM 587 Views
