So season 5 is over. For me it was a lackluster season. So many of the stories seemed to be filler so the main story could be stretched for 13 episodes.
Lagayette, Terry, Andy. What did they have to do with the Vamp Infighting story. Jessica and Jason, and Hoyt seemed to be fluff.
At least Pam and Tara were interesting.
I noticed this season had a lot of people covered head to toe in blood. Speaking, Sam was awesome in the finale.
So Bill is supposed to be, what, the reincarnation of Lillith now?
And Eric killing Russell was just....satisfying.

It really seems like Alan Ball knew he was leaving and just wasn't into even bothering to go out strong. The faeries sucked my balls, Eric was decent and Nora was stupid as hell. Russell??? Really, we needed to rehash that guy? I didn't mind the season he was in but bringing him back and then making Newland his new love interest was just stupid. The infighting on the authority council was retarded although Russell telling Roman he was a self-righteous prick during the Renaissance and was still one today before staking him was a nice touch. Lol.
Tara looks like a two-bit hooker in her stupid animal print pants and the whole Jessica, Jason, Hoyt thing??? Don't get me started. They totally wasted Hoyt's character. Sam and Luna are getting old too and the Alcide storyline? Ohhhh, Iwant to puke. And I refuse to acknowledge the stupid smoke monster storyline with any more discussion of it.
The only two things I found interesting this season were Pam's backstory on how she and Eric came together and the mystery of the Worrlo (sp) vampire. They never really did get back to him so I imagine that will be a theme next season as Eric tries to figure out how to destroy Billith.
Honestly? This show might be in real trouble. I don't see where they can go with it while renewing the characters into new situations that are interesting and unique. They had better pray that the next director brings some good writers with him because if next season is as lame as this season then True Blood is done.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
