Can't it be both? Bookwyrm Send a noteboard - 23/07/2012 07:47:09 PM
I know Bane's background. I've read the comics. But in the movie, it wasn't Bane who was the child born in the prison, but Talia. And the prison wasn't located on a Caribbean island but somewhere in North Africa, perhaps the Middle East.

An al Ghul climbed out of the "Pit", and I see that as a reference to the Lazarus Pit.

Also, Batman was broken by Bane and believed dead by others. He was thrown into the Pit to die, but he didn't. He rose from the Pit, his body healed. Take that how you will, but I again see the Lazarus Pit reference.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who felt the same. Link below

That probably went against his philosophy. - 02/08/2012 04:23:28 AM 875 Views
Well, his goal is despair. It'd be even more effective if there was a guard at the top. - 04/08/2012 03:12:45 AM 812 Views
