A man who does bad things, does a good thing and brings balance to Force as a whole? It just doesn't make any sense.
is that, at least to my admittedly extremely limited SW lore knowledge, there's no reason why the prophecy of Anakin "bringing balance to the Force" has to be taken as a prophecy of *all* of his actions. Although of course people are naturally inclined to read it differently, prophecies have a way of meaning something else than people are inclined to think: at some point in the future, Anakin will bring balance to the Force. That's all the prophecy says. Anakin's actions prior to that are entirely ignored. So in that view, Yoda and the others were right to consider the "bringing balance to the Force" a good thing - but they failed to realize that prior to that, Anakin would be a main factor in unbalancing it.
"..the one to bring balance to the force"

I was under the impression it was widely accepted that Anakin brought balance to the force...

Actually, the most recent book revealed a solid answer to the prophecy.

As canon as Han saying the Death Star was too big to be a space station...

There are certainly some inconsistencies, but very few outright contradictions.

"Balance to the Force" is a numbers game. The key is in a comment by Yoda at the end of Ep. 1.

But Obi Wan said Anakin was prophecied to destroy the Sith "not join them!" And he did. Eventually. *NM*

Technically, going strictly by the films, that could have been supposition rather than quotation. *NM*

Not ideal maybe, but more an organization of people than a nation of people.
