This episode seems to be the episode that diverges from the books more than the other 11 so far aired.
From Craster's knocking Jon over the head, Theon trying to molest Asha/Yara instead of the other way around (I'm pretty sure in the book SHE was groping his crotch), and then of course that damned scene with Dany in which it appears the show runners have killed off Rakharo, who is still with Dany in all the later books.
What the hell? Why why why do they find it necessary to make a change like that? Killing Mago in season 1 is not a biggie (just change the name of the leader of the khalassar that runs across Dany when they get to that far future season) but Rakharo is a constant in Dany's story (even if the TV character is more like Jhogo who also is still alive at least until aDwD).

Considering the episode was called The Night Lands, there was relatively little of Dany down under, but then again her adventures at this point are a little slow anyhow.
I found that Pyke was handled rather well, even if I don't recall Asha (or whatever her name is now) teasing Theon or rather him hitting on her that much.
Again, every scene with Tyrion was gold. I am not sure why we needed five minutes of Littlefinger threatening that nameless whore we keep seeing. Considering the amount of characters they gotta cover, I dunno why there was so much emphasis on this.
And once again the show proves that it does not really appreciate Martin's more subtle hints in the books and instead decides to let Stannis and Melisandre go at it right away. I thought that was a little much.
Craster hitting Jon over the head was a change too, wasn't it?
Overall a good episode, though.

Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.

I felt it was strongly hinted in the books

Exactly. In fact, until she said something to Jon in DWD, I felt the actual copulation was ambiguous

I just think even with 10 hours of content this season, there isn't time for subtle hints.....

I'm starting to get annoyed by the casting and the adaptations of the dialogue

The TV show should remind everyone that Martin should write screenplays, not novels.
