But I felt like this trailer deserved it. Or rather the movie does, since I'm not judging the trailer on technical merits or something. The premise of the movie just seems really stupid to me. Bunch of loner superheroes that always work alone banding together, and not even on their own initiative but due to some kind of government program? It's silly, and completely out of character, they would never actually consent to something so degrading. Not to mention that if the evil they're fighting is Loki and something he unleashed, then Thor alone should be fully capable of handing it. He did it before, why does he suddenly need backup to do it?
And it's pretty clear what is going to happen. Bunch of loners join up to fight evil, they have no teamwork, are snarky and witty to each other, get into fights, mess each other up, and so forth. Eventually they reach a breakthrough and learn the value of teamwork and succeed in defeating their bad guy. Superheroes tend to be cliche, and that's as cliche as it comes.
All in all, it just seems like a fanboy wet dream. I never read comic books, so these characters don't really mean anything to me. I just watched and enjoyed a few of their movies. So perhaps that's why I'm so critical of this one rather than excitedly dancing a jig like everyone I know seems to be doing. For others, it is the long awaited and expected crossover of some of their favorite characters... For me, it's just a bunch of characters lumped together into one movie for the sake of dialogue filled with barbs and jabs at one another. Sure, that's enjoyable in films like Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man, because Robert Downey Jr. is really good at it. But in those movies it makes sense and is character appropriate. Here, because the concept of them being brought together and actually having to work together is so ridiculous in my eyes, it undermines the enjoyment I will get from character interactions. I won't see it as natural chemistry between the characters being portrayed, but as something forced and contrived by the film makers because they know that witty dialogue + explosive action = more new vacation homes for them than I can count.
So all in all... I'm just not excited. I'm certain the movie will be enjoyable. There's a reason why the combination of witty dialogue and explosive action sells so well, after all. But it's a combination that we're all very familiar with, and it's one I can enjoy, but not get excited over. Particularly when much of it will involve characters I do not like and do not care for, in situations I find ridiculous and contrived.

It's not as if this movie franchise came up with the idea of teaming them up

Like I said, I never read the comics. But I'm totally fine with blaming them for the crossover

I was under the impression that several of them who are not Thor don't, in fact, have powers

Having read the comics in the 80s I've been waiting a long time for this to happen.

I agree that a film/show/book etc. should always obey it's internal logic

I had no problem with League or Watchmen. Well, not "no" problem... but not that much.
